Juan Manuel Marquez, the only Mexican fighter who was able to survive the fury of the world renowned best pound for pound fighter in the world and who is also a champion in 4 different weight divisions, Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines fights Joel Casamayor. The Marquez vs Casamayor fight seem just in time for the moving up in weight class earlier by Manny Pacquiao. Could this be just some coincidence or is “Dinamita” preparing for moving one notch up some more in a quest to fight Pacquiao and meet in the junior welterweight class?

Earlier today, the fight between Casamayor and Marquez proved to be one of the most exciting fights ever in the 135 pound division as Casamayor, the choosy fighter looses against Juan Manuel Marquez in an 11th round TKO stoppage which really ended in a flurry as the referee stops the fight after Casamayor dropped in the canvass twice in the same round. the first few rounds were taken by the Cuban fighter but after about 3 more rounds, the technical capabilities of El Dinamita proved to be superior against his opponent in the ring which he fought for the first time.

Joel Casamayor was defeated by Juan Manuel Marquez in a very close points based fight until the latter dropped Casamayor in the 11th round only to win via knockout convincingly as the referee stopped the fight because Casamayor is really badly hurt in the exchange where he took a lot of flurry of punches from Marque.

In an interview later by the fight hosts, Juan Manuel Marquez promised that the fight he won over Joel Casamayor is to show Manny Pacquiao that he is after his head and is willing to bet on his bottom dollar just to get a slot to fight the 4 division world record holder Filipino fighter whom he is really after of upon moving a weight class higher than his original division.

The question this time is, will Marquez still have enough of Manny “pacman” Pacquiao as he waits for the results of the upcoming fight between the history maker “goldenboy” Oscar Dela Hoya which is set to go on December 6 as what the HBO Boxing schedule tells in the billboard schedule of upcoming fights. Pacquiao and his fans have better prepare as Marquez starts his move up in weight class and wins over a highly ranked and top rated fighter in Joel Casamayor. This proves that Marquez has what it takes to get to the weight class of Pacquiao. I bet this will be yet another fight of the century if the Dela Hoya vs Pacquiao pursues to the ring on December 6, 2008.
