Rey Boom Boom Bautista Retains WBO Intercontinental Crown Over Eden Marquez
Marquez Falls in Round and Recovers
Last night, Rey “BoomBoom” Bautista was able to retain his WBO intercontinental crown over a fight at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel. Eden “Anesthesista” Marquez who was previously defeated also by a former foe, Castro. Bautista from the Philippines first knocked down the opponent from Mexico in the 2nd round but eventually, Eden Marquez gave in to too much strength of the Filipino champion.
Corresponding Fighter Ring Record
- Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista (25 wins - 1 loss - 18 KOs)
- Mexican Eden “Anestescista” Marquez (16wins - 3 losses -3 draws - 12 KOs)
Three other Filipinos were featured in the fight and I must say that Bautista still has the hands with him after a defeat he suffered with a fight against Daniel Ponce De Leon. Boom Boom hopes to be able to come back to a championship fight but would need a lot of training to strengthen his stomach and body as a whole which is the major reason he got defeated by De Leon, his only ring record blemish.
The result of the the said fight is really impressive for all the Filipinos including Bautista and a 16 year old developing pride of Ala Stable which I forgot about the name.
