UAE, 2008 - Billiard is now considered as sports because of its popularity during the times of Efren “Bata” “The magician” Reyes. In the times of Amang Parica, in the Philippines, it was still some sort of a leisure and not more of a sport. Efren Reyes actually helped revolutionize and improve the view of sports fanatics with billiards and world pool, making it part of Philippine history.
Today, Ronnie Alcano is on his way to defend his title is the UAE World 8-Ball Championship and he is going to face the European Champion and veteran Ralph Souquet. As I write this post now, news have it that Ronnie Alcano was defeated by the European champion and failed to defend his title as the world 8-ball champion.
