Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park Underground River
Puerto Princesa’s Pride - The Underground River
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, also called as the Underground River is actually one of the major 3 entries by the Philippines to the new 7 wonders of nature. This entry has climbed up from not even getting to the top first 77 entries since the start of April. The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is one of the most uniquely nature crafted river water park in the world because it is actually an underground river, with what the locals commonly would call the park.
Tubbataha Reef Islets are a Unique Bird Sanctuary
A television feature from the Philippines even featured that any visit to Palawan without gazing at the unique ambiance of the Underground River is not a complete visit and would be useless because it is one of the pride of the province. With the most diversely populated limestone cave where the river flows and a nature reserve as unique as the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, the Philippines indeed have a chance to grab the first top 7 spots. This same province in the Philippines is where you can find the one of the best coral reefs in the world which is the Tubbataha Reef Marine and Bird Sanctuary. Unique in its assets and beauty, the Tubbataha Reef, home to a cast of countless endangered marine species is also now an official bird sanctuary where an estimated report says would shelter hundreds of diverse species of birds. It is also believed that this coral reef would even shy away the beauty of the largest coral reef in the world, the Great Barrier Reef of Australia.
3 Entries on the Top 15 Now
Going back to the astounding beauty of the Underground River, The Philippines is hoping that the 3 entries will merge to meet the top entries from Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh and Japan. As the 3 major entries reach the summit of top 15 where the Tubbataha Reef is at # 8, The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park at # 9 and the Chocolate Hills at # 15. This is going to be a very interesting battle for the country in Asia, the Philippines to join other Asian participants on the top spot before the year ends.
Underground River Features
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is filled with excitement as you enter the mouth of a cave where the river runs under it. Inside you can see the amazing hands of nature that has curved the path of the river into the cave filled with limestone. The Underground River will take you to an exciting 8.2 kilometers of travel which by my own estimate by walk would be a very long 2 hour journey into one of the most beautiful and unique underground river ever that you will only see in Puerto Princesa where the breath-taking River can be found. Imagine the path of the river that leads you to an 8.2 kilometer travel that will end you up into the realms of the South China Sea where it rests its travelers while they look into uniquely formed stalactites and stalagmites where you can take a peek at some of the cave’s large chambers inside.
Diverse Species and Wonderful Surprises
The reputation of Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is not just in its beauty and uniqueness in all aspects that you cannot find in other rivers. It is an underground river that leads you to the best travel in your life, to pass through The Longest River in the World. The mouth of the cave containing a crystal clear lagoon surrounded by century old trees is also home and refuge to animals and species like big monitor lizards, squirrels, monkeys and sea snakes that serve as the signature and flagship to a whole lot of surprises as you tour the cave.
